The many benefits of the Outdoors

Sometimes all you need is to go outside and get some fresh air.

One of my favourite movies when I was a kid was Ferris Beuller's Day Off. Something about the rebellious freedom made me light up!

Nowadays instead of dreaming of taking a day off school my mind ponders thoughts of taking off to the bush or driving down the coastline.

In a world where everything is seemingly becoming more and more fast paced, I think the importance of slowing down in nature has never been more important.

There's a great line in the film where Ferris says "Life moves pretty fast, if you dont stop and look around everyone once in a while you could miss it."

How many times have you been so caught up in the whirlwind of life that you've forgotten to look up and appreciate where you are.

I know for a lot of us these days we get caught up in our own heads and take the simple pleasures for granted.

I especially get lost in my own head overthinking and over analysing a lot of decisions to the point where I become trapped in analysis paralysis.

This is when I find it essential to stop and get outside. To look up, to breath in the fresh air and just appreciate the natural beauty around me.

Sometimes it might feel like a step backwards but often a small reset may be all you need to get around that road block.
